Evaluating What Matters: Using Data for Insight and Impact

This is a four-part, half-day interactive workshop designed to help Southern Nevada nonprofits strengthen their ability to collect, manage, analyze, and use data to improve programs and demonstrate impact.

Event dates:

Day 2 · August 27, 2026: The Blueprint: Planning, data collection
Day 3 · September 1, 2026: The Insights: Analysis, storytelling
Day 4 · September 3, 2026: The AI Advantage: Applying AI to strengthen your evaluation work

All sessions are scheduled from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm.

Through a blend of practical instruction and hands-on learning, this workshop covers the full evaluation cycle.

Participants will learn how to:
1. Build a logic model and define meaningful outcomes
2. Identify appropriate indicators and data collection tools
3. Analyze data using simple, accessible techniques
4. Communicate findings through data visualization and storytelling.

Participants will walk away with actionable program evaluation plan templates.

Led by evaluation experts at the University of Nevada, Reno Extension office in Las Vegas, and Dr. Sheetal Survase at Nevada GrantLab.

**Eligibility requirement**: this workshop is hands-on, so you must work with data from ONE specific program throughout all four sessions. This workshop is hands-on, so we are asking participants to bring data from ONE specific program to work with over the four sessions. "Data" doesn't have to mean complex spreadsheets or statistics - it can be as simple as data from intake sheets, attendance counts, case notes, client stories, feedback forms, or anything else you're already tracking.
