The City of Markham is updating its Housing Needs Assessment and developing Housing Policy and Strategic Recommendations to guide housing policy, investment, and partnerships over the next decade. Your input as a Markham resident is essential to understanding local housing needs, challenges, and opportunities.
The purpose of this work is to identify gaps in the housing system, forecast future demand, and develop actionable strategies to improve housing affordability, accessibility, and choice for people living in Markham. Insights from residents will help shape municipal decision‑making, inform updates to the Official Plan, and support programs aimed at ensuring all residents have access to appropriate and affordable housing options.
This survey will take approximately under 5 minutes to complete. The survey will remain open until Monday, April 6 at 5PM.
Purpose
This survey is administered by SHS Inc., an affordable housing consulting firm contracted by the City of Markham. By participating, you are helping build a detailed understanding of residents’ housing experiences: what’s working, what’s not, and what types of housing are needed in the future. Your responses will directly inform strategies and actions to better support the housing needs of Markham residents.

Your privacy and data protection are important to us. All responses will remain confidential and anonymous. We will not ask for your name or contact information. Your input will be used solely for the purpose of this project and will not be shared in a way that identifies you or your organization.
