Tip Wage Survey

We at RAMW need to hear input from you, our local restaurant operators and foodservice community, to better understand where you are regarding the proposed elimination of the tip credit. As the National Restaurant Association will be leading the advocacy efforts on the national level, there will be several opportunities for us to lead on a local level, we want to know where you are now on the tip credit, especially as we came off a very involved and well coordinated grassroots campaign here in DC to combat Initiative 77, which aimed to eliminate the tip credit system in DC. This is a complex issue, and for some much has changed in the last three years, and more directly in the last year during the pandemic. It is critical we have a clear understanding of how to best represent our local operators on this issue.

Your participation in this survey will help us as we develop our local strategy plugging into national efforts moving forward. We are keenly aware of is and the tone-deaf timing of any effort that places an unreasonable burden on small businesses at a time when everyone is trying to readjust and reset.

At this time, the timing of the legislation is not clear, as it could be tied to the COVID relief package or could be a standalone bill.
