2019 International Student Leadership Committee (I-LEAD) Application Form

The application process for the 2019 ISS International Student Leadership Committee (I-LEAD) is now open until 13th January 2019.

International Student Services (ISS) deliver an extensive range of services, programs and events designed to support international students.  The students’ voice is essential to improve services and enhance the engagement of international students with the University community as well to improve academic and professional success. ISS values diverse student input.

ISS are seeking current La Trobe University students to fill vacancies within the 2019 International Student Leadership (I-LEAD) Committee. The I-LEAD Committee is constituted by both international and domestic students from all campuses and includes students from a broad range of academic disciplines, year levels, cultural backgrounds and equity groups. Selected students will serve I-LEAD for a minimum of 12 months. Selection is based on meeting eligibility criteria, a completed application form and interview.

I-LEAD is a volunteer program and members will be formally recognised by the University for their service. Members of the I-LEAD Committee will receive training, relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the Committee and will gain professional skills throughout their service to La Trobe University. Funded attendance to relevant conferences is one way that this can occur.

The ISS International Student Leadership Committee will:
- provide ongoing consultation to ISS staff on all  matters related to the international student experience at La Trobe;
- have opportunities to propose, develop and implement their own programs, projects and events;
- meet regularly, with a predetermined agenda and subsequent actions;
- be supervised and mentored;
- receive training relevant to the position;
- have the opportunity to attend relevant conferences and seminars.

Eligibility for selection:
1. Must have completed at least one (1) semester (coursework) and not be entering the final semester of final year (all levels). HDR students at any stage prior to their final twelve (12) months are eligible and encouraged to apply.
2. Minimum WAM of 65. HDR students must have satisfactory progress.
3. Must be available for a 12 months membership and can commit to at least two (2) hours every four (4) weeks.
4. Must complete application form and if selected to next stage, attend an interview (February 2019).
5. Must be available to attend compulsory training and induction (March 2019).

APPLICATIONS CLOSE 11:59PM 13TH JANUARY 2019.

Thank you for your interest. All the best for the selection process.
