Dear Health Professional,

My name is Naomi Weier, and as part of my PhD studies I am investigating the types of training programmes in antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) that are available to health professionals around the world. As part of this research, we are conducting a short survey of health professionals from varying disciplines and from different countries around the world on whether they are aware of training programmes available for AMS, and to provide details of this training if known. We are also asking several demographic questions to determine the characteristics of our survey respondents. My supervisors are Dr Tabish Zaidi and Dr Rahul Patel from the School of Medicine, University of Tasmania, Australia, and we are conducting this research in conjunction with: Prof Céline Pulcini from the University of Lorraine, France; Prof Karin Thursky from the Peter Doherty Institute, Australia; Dr Thomas Grenholm Tängdén from Uppsala University, Sweden; Prof Dilip Nathwani from Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, United Kingdom;  Dr Vera Vlahović from University of Rijeka, Croatia; Dr Oliver Dyar from Karolinska Institute, Sweden; Assoc Prof Bojana Beović from University Medical Centre Ljubljana and University of Ljubljana, Slovenia; and Prof Gabriel Levy Hara from Durand Hospital, Argentina.

This survey aims to identify AMS training programmes that are available to health professionals around the world. As such, we are interested in knowing if you are aware of any AMS training programmes available for health professionals, and if so, to provide some information about the course (e.g. course title). The survey will take less than 5 minutes to complete and responses will be completely anonymous. It is available through the following web link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PQGLDJR

Alternatively, if you would like to have a copy of the survey posted to you to complete, please contact myself or Dr Tabish Zaidi using the email addresses below, and provide details of your preferred postal address. A copy of the survey will then be posted with a postage-paid return address envelope.

The survey will be available to complete for a period of four weeks – from Monday 16th April 2018 until Monday 14th May 2018.

The results of this research will be published, and an inventory of AMS training programmes available to health professionals will be developed after this study is completed. If you would like a copy of the results and/or the inventory of AMS training programmes, please contact either myself or Dr Tabish Zaidi through the email addresses below and we will inform you when this information is available.
