We are consulting with our tenants on next year's rent increase, the council require to increase rents by a minimum of 7% in 2026/27, this is an average house type increase of £6.12 per week.

If we were to increase our rents by 8% (an average of £7 per week) this would allow further investment into the service and help to generate an additional £1 million pounds towards accelerating the modernisation programme and priorities that are important to you.

Option 1. Average weekly increase of 7% (average £6.12 rent increase) The minimum required to deliver the service.
Option 2. Average weekly increase of 8% (average £7.00 rent increase) To help improve the service further, invest an additional £1million to advance modernisation and increase potential investment in new housing.
Option 3. I would be open to additional rent increase but no greater than £8 per week. To help improve service further, invest an additional £1 million to advance modernisation and ensure we are prepared for future energy efficiency stands.
