Sales of Affordable Rented Homes in Rural Parishes

This research is led by Rural Housing Enablers working at Connecting Communities in Berkshire, Community First Oxfordshire and Community Impact Bucks. As well as working with rural parishes to develop new affordable homes for people with parish connection, we are also trying to understand the loss of affordable homes which has been affecting some rural communities - not just in our own counties but across rural England.

You may have received this survey from another rural housing organisation working in your home county or local authority area. All responses will remain anonymous, but respondents are able to share their contact details if they are happy to be contacted for follow up questions.

The results of this survey will contribute to a wider research project into losses of rural affordable housing. For more information about this please follow this link to the Connecting Communities in Berkshire website: https://ccberks.org.uk/research-into-market-sales-of-affordable-rural-homes/
1.Are you aware of any sales of formerly 'affordable' or socially rented homes onto the open market in your parish in the past 5-10 years?
(Sales onto the open market as opposed to sales to existing tenants through right to buy or right to acquire)
2.How many sales of homes are you aware of?
3.If you have property addresses or links to sale or auction web pages relating to the properties please share this information here:
4.What is the name of the village/s or parish/s where homes have been sold?
5.Please tell us when any sales took place:
(a rough estimate will do)
6.Do you know which Housing Association or organisation owned the homes before they were sold? If so please tell us here:
7.Did the Housing Association build new homes or otherwise replace the homes sold, in the same parish or village?
8.What impact, if any, has this market sale of affordable homes had on the village or parish?
9.Which of these best describe you?
10.Finally, please tell us which Local Authority is this village or parish in?
11.If you would be happy for us to contact you to discuss this topic with you further, please leave a contact email address or phone number. Alternatively please email maria.kelly@ccberks.org.uk
