Culture and Creativity Plan for County Donegal

Introduction

Culture embraces arts, heritage, traditional ways-of-life, folklore, Irish language and creative industries in their broadest sense. The Creative Ireland Programme is a government initiative that envisages that every person living in Ireland will have the opportunity to fully realize his or her creative potential (https://creative.ireland.ie). There are five pillars in the programme in order to realize this vision:

Enabling the Creative Potential of Every Child
Enabling Creativity in Every Community
Investing in our Creative and Cultural Infrastructure
Ireland as a Center of Excellence in Media Production
Unifying our Global Reputation

Each local authority in Ireland will be preparing a Culture and Creativity Plan that reflects the overall structure and aims of the national strategy for culture and creativity. The Culture Team in Donegal County Council would like your thoughts and suggestions in order to prepare the Culture & Creativity Plan for County Donegal. In particular, we would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions regarding ‘Enabling Creativity in Every Community’ and how creative approaches and imaginative thinking can make our culture better understood, fully appreciated, more engaging, widely practiced, more relevant, promote best practice, support jobs, attract visitors and/or deliver what is needed locally. The Culture Team will review and consider all suggestions for possible inclusion in the Culture & Creativity Plan for County Donegal.
