NATIONAL CULTURAL POLICY REVIEW 2026 - HAVE YOUR SAY

This Documentary Australia survey aims to gather input from documentary practitioners across Australia to inform our submission to the Australian Government’s National Cultural Policy Review.
The survey aims to collect representative feedback on how documentary functions as a distinct creative form, and whether current systems and settings adequately support its sustainability, and its cultural, social and public value.

We hope to ensure that documentary is recognised and supported as a distinct creative form with appropriate policy, funding, and classification settings.

The survey is organised around the five key policy pillars of the National Cultural Policy including:

Pillar 1: First Nations First
Pillar 2: A Place for Every Story
Pillar 3: Centrality of the Artist
Pillar 4: Strong Cultural Infrastructure
Pillar 5: Engaging the Audience.

You do not have to answer all questions. Only the ones you want to share your feedback on.

Responses are confidential and will be aggregated in our submission.
