Cultural IP Rights are Human Rights: A legislative Proposal

The Cultural IP Month is a space for conversation and a catalyst for system change.

In a month-long celebration, we honored the creativity, wisdom and innovation of Indigenous People, ethnic groups and local communities, and marked the creation of the Cultural Intellectual Property Rights Initiative® (CIPRI) on 26 April 2018.

We believe that all types of knowledge should be equally valued. Everyone deserves equity, dignity and social justice.

Because conventional IP tools do not adequately protect cultural intellectual property rights, we want to create tools that do!

"Cultural Intellectual Property Rights are Human Rights" is the theme of the Cultural IP Month and a mission we can tackle as a global community.

With this first Cultural IP Month we created the premises for starting an EU Legislative Initiative Proposal.

This is the first step.

Between April 2024 and April 2025 we need our initiative to reach 1 million signatures from EU Citizens. But this is not only relevant to EU Citizens. International support from non-EU citizens is extremely relvant and powerful for creating system change!
