The $1 billion Australian Lakeview development of luxury hotels, shops and apartments in central Queenstown has been controlled by the sole authority of QLDC CEO Mike Theelen since 2017. Since then the ratepayers have been pushed into a loss making position that sits just under $100 million with any future income tied up in a complex and largely non-public contract. Now four QLDC councillors want control of the project reviewed, potentially leading to the CEO not being in sole charge. Do you support that move - or not?
