RESEARCH TITLE: COVID-19 AND A NEW VACCINE: THE BARBADIAN PERSPECTIVE

RESEARCHERS:
Dr. Stephanie Date, Dr.Jordan Fakoory, Dr. Kimberley Banfield, Mr. Christopher Laurie

Aims of the Research: To assess the knowledge, attitudes & perceptions surrounding COVID-19 & the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine among Barbadians. This information can benefit Barbadians, healthcare systems & population health by gaining new knowledge that will allow the ministries of health to define or adjust public policy & communication strategies. 

 If you consent to participate in the study you will be asked a few confidential questions that should take no more than 15 minutes.

Benefit/Risk of Participation:  This independent study will highlight Barbadian's views towards the AstraZeneca vaccine & highlight any obstacles that may prevent Barbadians from receiving or refusing the COVID-19 vaccine, or adequate information surrounding the vaccine or COVID-19, and this will guide public health reform should there be future pandemics, vaccines or policies. 
There are no known or expected risks to participating in this study. 

I understand that I am being asked to participate in an independent study to answer questions relating to knowledge, attitudes and perceptions of Barbadians regarding COVID-19 and the AstraZeneca vaccine. 

I understand that participation is voluntary & I may refuse to answer any question during the survey and/or withdraw from the study at any point.
