4.In an effort to reduce the cost of housing, the Legislature expanded eligibility and benefits for Minnesota’s Homestead Credit Refund program and the Renter’s Property Tax Refund program. Are you familiar with these programs?
5.In an effort to reduce the cost of health care, the Legislature capped co-pays for life-saving prescription drugs like insulin, EpiPens, and asthma inhalers. Will you or someone you know benefit from this change?
6.The Legislature created a new program to provide breakfast and lunch for every student, making our state one of the first in the nation to offer no-cost school meals for our kids. Do you support or oppose the universal school meals program?
7.For decades, state support for education has not kept up with inflation, and school districts have increasingly turned to property taxes to fund local schools. The Legislature made historic investments in state support for education, with future investments tied to the rate of inflation, including over $13 million for public schools in our district. Do you favor stronger state support for education or do you favor higher property taxes to fund local schools?
8.The Legislature added to our state laws the fundamental right to make reproductive health care decisions without interference from politicians. Do you support or oppose new laws that protect abortion access in our state?
9.The state of Minnesota will launch a publicly administered Paid Family and Medical Leave program in January 2026. Do you think an expansion of paid leave benefits for Minnesota’s workers will have a positive or negative impact on our state’s economy?
10.Beginning in fall 2024, the state of Minnesota will provide free college tuition and fees for Minnesota residents with household incomes less than $80,000 per year at any of the public Minnesota colleges and universities. Will you or someone you know benefit?
11.In an effort to reduce gun violence, the Legislature strengthened our state’s criminal background check laws and established Extreme Risk Protection Orders (more commonly known as a “red flag law”). Do you support or oppose these efforts to reduce gun violence?
