North American Food Manufacturing Response to the SARS-CoV-2 Pathogen Crisis

Introduction

This research study investigates the measures and actions currently being taken by food manufacturing organizations in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Through a combination of survey research and interviews, this study will reveal the most effective actions, capabilities, and enabling tools being deployed to combat the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic within food production environments.

The research is intended to uncover:
  • The range of actions and countermeasures that leading suppliers and processors are taking in response to the pandemic crisis
  • The capabilities and skillsets required to effectively deploy these countermeasures
  • The enabling technologies and tools that have been put in place to support these capabilities
  • The performance measures that determine whether strategies and actions are effective.
Methodology and Scope of Research

The research will be conducted within the following parameters:
  • Research participants will be comprised of executives, professionals, and consultants within food manufacturing and processing organizations.
  • The research will collect information via this survey instrument, interviews, and desk research from organizations with business operations in North America (U.S. and Canada). Some responses may come from organizations headquartered internationally with operations in North America.
  • This survey instrument will be distributed to target participants via multiple methods, including research partner organization memberships, email campaigns, and social media campaigns.
This survey instrument has been vetted by several third-party experts and practitioners, including food industry professionals and executives with roles in food manufacturing & processing, food safety consulting, academia and science, and regulatory oversight.
