Wednesday, June 7th AND Friday, June 9th from 9:00 a.m. - 1 p.m.
(Continental breakfast will be served at 8:30am, program starts promptly at 9:00am)
Peter Room, Cohon University Center, 2nd floor
Presented by Martha Harty, Ph.D. and Ellen J. DeBenedetti, M.Ed.
Wouldn’t life be easier if we didn’t have to deal with other people? Unfortunately, human interaction is inevitable, and therefore, so is conflict. Our world is rich with diversity, and whenever people hold different views, the potential for conflict is ripe. In dealing with employers, advisors, students, parents, colleagues, and personal relationships, how we respond to conflict can make the difference between productive and destructive outcomes. Fortunately we can increase our ability to handle conflict constructively by deepening our understanding of conflict dynamics and learning to apply theory to practice. This two-part workshop begins with understanding our individual attitudes and approaches to conflict, explores alternative approaches grounded in conflict theory, and develops practical skills. Be the person who channels conflict in a positive direction and be more successful in your professional and personal lives: take this workshop!
