Thank you for your interest in the Director, Community & Membership role at SHPE.
This position is responsible for shaping SHPE’s end-to-end individual member experience — from recruitment and onboarding through engagement, retention, lifetime membership, and alumni connection. The Director serves as the national owner of member strategy, digital member systems (MySHPE), and nonprofit partnership development.
This role operates as a strategic peer to the Director of Regions & Chapters, ensuring strong alignment between grassroots chapter engagement and enterprise-level membership strategy.
We are seeking a systems-minded, member-centered leader who is energized by building scalable platforms, strengthening community belonging, and translating strategy into measurable growth and impact.
You do not need to meet every qualification listed in the job description to apply.
If you are excited about the mission, believe your experience aligns with the spirit of the role, and can demonstrate strategic leadership in membership, systems, or community environments, we strongly encourage you to apply.
SHPE is committed to building an inclusive team and welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
