Military Value Assessment Survey - Community

The Cumberland York Area Local Defense Group (CYALDG) is conducting a military value assessment. The assessment will demonstrate the value of the Department of Defense (DoD) presence to the Cumberland York Area and will demonstrate the value of the region to the DoD’s mission. The assessment supports the Department of Defense’s “Priorities for the 21st Century Defense,” which describes how the United States will sustain and advance its current and future missions.

The assessment will primarily focus on:

·         Carlisle Barracks, US Army War College (Carlisle)

·         US Army Heritage and Education Center (Carlisle)

·         Distribution Logistics Agency Susquehanna (New Cumberland)

·         Naval Support Activity (Mechanicsburg)

A key part of the assessment is gathering stakeholder input from a variety of sources using a variety of methods including e-surveys, interviews, public meetings and focus groups. Using this input, combined with other analyses, CYALDG will produce an assessment that communicates how the DoD’s presence in the Cumberland York Area is essential to the success of our military’s mission.
