Coaches & Officials Development

The Equestrian Queensland Sport Development Fund for Coaches and Officials offers $15,000 in 2020 aimed at Coaches and Officials to support development and increasing the standard of excellence within the sport. This program is open to Individual Coaches as well as all EQ Sport Committees to support growth and development of Officials.

ELIGIBILITY
For Individual Coaches/Officials attending upgrade/re-accreditation courses
To be eligible under this program all applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • be a current member of Equestrian Queensland
  • hold a current EA Coaching/Officiating accreditation
  • applicants must be attending an endorsed EA/FEI course for officiating or coaching
  • event/course must be held between 1 Jan and 1 Dec 2020 and be EA/FEI endorsed
  • to cover travel expenses only
For EQ Sport Committee hosting Officials development courses
To be eligible under this program your EQ Sport Committee must meet the following criteria:
  • be an Equestrian Queensland Sport Committee, or endorsement has been received by an Affiliate from an EQ Sport Committee to host the course/seminar
  • use EA current and registered Officials or EA recognised qualified professionals to deliver course/seminar
APPLYING FOR SPORT DEVELOPMENT FUNDING
For Individual Coaches/Officials
Complete the online application form, answering the following:
  •  ensure you meet the eligibility criteria outlined above
  • indicate the course type, date and venue 
For EQ Sport Committee Officials Development
The following steps apply to all applications for funding:
  1. ensure your EQ Sport Committee and proposed course/seminar meets the eligibility criteria outlined above
  2. ensure all presenters hold a current EA Official qualification and are qualified to deliver the course/seminar content
  3. complete the online application form, answering the following:
    • provide a written statement outlining how this funding will benefit the growth and development of the sport
    • indicate expected participation numbers of EQ members and restricted participants
    • supply the requested supporting documentation
How much funding am I able to apply for?
For Individual Coaches/Officials
All applications are based on merit, funding is limited to a maximum of $500 per application. Applicants are eligible for funding more than once, however secondary applications will be held in the EQ office and assessed at the end of November 2020. Funding is to assist with travel expenses for associated EA/FEI nationally and internationally recognised Coach/Official courses within the sport.

For EQ Sport Committee Officials Development
Funding is limited to a maximum of $750 per application. Applicants are eligible for funding more than once, however all applications are based on merit.
IMPORTANT DATES
This funding is open to activities conducted from 1 January to 1 December 2020. Activities conducted outside these dates will NOT eligible for funding.

WHAT IS REQUIRED ONCE FUNDING HAS BEEN APPROVED?
For Individual Coaches/Officials
If your application for funding is approved, you are eligible to receive 100% of the approved amount after the date of the course upon the receipt of;
  • Applicants direct deposit bank details
  • All follow-up paperwork and evidence of expenditure are required to be submitted to EQ by 1 December 2020, failure to do so will result in any monies being forfeited.
For EQ Sport Committee Officials Development
If your application for funding is approved, you are eligible to receive 100% of the approved amount after the date of the ‘activity’ upon the receipt of;
  • an invoice made to Equestrian Queensland
  • completed attendees list (listing participants full names and EQ membership status)
  • copy of flyer or screen shot of social media post the acknowledging Equestrian Queensland for the endorsement and funding of the ‘activity’
  • final budget (outlining the participants and the EQ Sports Committee’s financial contribution)
OTHER EQ SPORT DEVELOPMENT FUNDING AVAILABLE
There are funding programs available to our members and/or clubs under our state-wide and discipline-specific programs including:
  • EQ Affiliated Clubs are also eligible to apply for funding under our Equestrian Queensland Safety and Equipment subsidy for regional clubs which offers $10,000 to affiliated regional* clubs to help improve safety and standards.
  • Sport Development Funding for clubs and sport committees offers $40,000 in 2020 to affiliated clubs and Equestrian Queensland Sport Committees to support the development and growth within their respective sports and assist our affiliated clubs in regional areas to support their events. 
  • The International Competition and Development Program provides funding toward the cost of travel and/or accommodation for foreign technical officials (such as judges, technical delegates, course designers and stewards) to attend Queensland FEI events, especially if they run educational opportunities for officials. There is also funding available through this program for new national events or showcase events.
