Eligibility Criteria

You are about to submit an application for the Clayton Utz Indigenous Scholarship. You'll be asked to confirm your eligibility, provide contact details, and then tell us why you would be a worthy recipient for this scholarship. 
The aim of the Clayton Utz Indigenous Scholarship is to support Indigenous students from disadvantaged backgrounds to undertake and/or continue their studies towards a trade related to the Rail Industry. 
This scholarship will provide $2500 for a Indigenous student who is experiencing hardship and who is committed to studying any of the following courses (in any year level) which are related to the Rail Industry.

Question Title

* 1. To be eligible for this scholarship you must:
  • identify as an Indigenous Australian or Torres Straight Islander.
  • demonstrate and provide evidence of financial hardship and educational disadvantage. Disadvantage may include:
    -    financial difficulty or low income
    -    disability or medical condition
    -    delay or interruption to career or studies because of family responsibilities or illness
    -    relocation from a rural or regional area in order to undertake tertiary study.
  • be completing a course related to the rail industry such as: Certificate III in Carpentry, Certificate II in Plumbing (Pre-Apprenticeship), Certificate III in Plumbing, Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services (Specialising In Operations), Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Pre-Vocational), Certificate II in Electrotechnology Studies (Pre-Vocational), Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, Certificate III in Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration, Introduction to Arc Welding, Introduction to MIG Welding, Introduction to TIG Welding, Fusion Welding to ISO 9606 for Transition Workers or Fusion Welding to ISO 9606 for Experienced Welders.
