City of Clayton, CA – 2019 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan Survey
This survey has been designed to involve residents, businesspeople, and other community stakeholders in the development of a LOCAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN (LHMP) for the City of Clayton. The final Plan must be reviewed and approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES).
FEMA defines Hazard Mitigation as: … “any sustained action taken to reduce or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property from hazards (44 CFR 201.2). Hazard Mitigation activities may be implemented prior to, during, or after an actual event. However, it has been demonstrated that hazard mitigation is most effective when based on an inclusive, comprehensive, long-term plan that is developed before a disaster occurs.”
In addition, FEMA’s formal approval of the LHMP is required for the City to be eligible to apply for and receive Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMPG) funding and other emergency management related financial assistance.
Please take a few minutes to complete this survey. Your input is essential to the quality of this Plan, and responses are completely confidential.
