GMLS Class Placement Input

Completing this survey is optional, but recommended. It is an opportunity for you to provide information that you would like the faculty and administration to consider when creating classes for the upcoming school year. We are open to having you share any information or insights that you think we might not know or that you want to ensure is taken into consideration. Please complete this survey one time for each Lower School child you have by Thursday, April 29th. Please remember the following:

1. We cannot guarantee the consideration of your input if it is received after April 29th; however, we will do our best. Families who enroll after this date should complete the survey as soon as possible.

2. Do not send input directly to classroom teachers or to administration. Do not rely on a verbal conversation with a staff member. Only parent input submitted via this survey will be considered. It will be read by Mrs. King and transmitted to the appropriate faculty members.

3. We respectfully ask that you do not request individual meetings to discuss class placement. This survey is the opportunity for input for all families in a fair and manageable way.

3. Class list development involves many people, including all teachers who know your child, the guidance counselor and the administration. A great deal of time and consideration for each child's individual needs is assured through this process.

4. We will create balanced classrooms which take into consideration academic needs, leadership skills, social and behavioral needs, gender, parent concerns, and special student needs.

5. We will not be building class lists based on parent requests for a specific teacher, so please do not request a specific teacher. To preserve the integrity of the process and in fairness to all families, any parent input which includes a specific teacher request will not be considered.
