About the Climate Council

The Climate Council is Australia’s largest not-for-profit organisation specialising in climate change research and communications and is consistently the number one organisation communicating on climate change nationally. The Climate Council produces research on climate change impacts as well as renewable energy, energy efficiency and emissions reduction in Australia and around the world.

About the Cities Power Partnership

Cities and towns have enormous power to act on climate ambitions and their power grows when they work together. Internationally and in Australia, local governments are taking the lead on climate action.

The Climate Council’s Cities Power Partnership aims to harness the collective power of Australia’s councils and highlight leadership occurring in towns and cities all over the country.

This survey aims to gather information about actions councils are already taking to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and to increase the use of renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable transport measures within councils and their communities, as well as to gauge their willingness to take further action in the future.
