Chester Resident Climate Readiness Priority Survey |
Welcome to the Town of Chester's Climate Readiness Priority Survey!
This survey is part of the Town of Chester's Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Planning Grant, funded by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy & Environmental Affairs.
Over the course of the past several months, Chester staff, municipal officials, business stakeholders, nonprofit and land-holdings organizations, and other members of the community at large have been gathering virtually to review up-to-date climate data for the Westfield River watershed and to identify vulnerabilities and assets that the town has in regards to our changing climate. In order to alleviate the vulnerabilities and protect the assets, the attendees of the MVP workshops identified a series of actions and strategies to help the town adapt to the realities of the changing climate. These strategies may be eligible for implementation with future grant funding from the MVP Action Grant program, which is particularly focused on funding strategies that rely on nature-based solutions.
Now, the Town is seeking your input as to your top priority strategies to help Chester become climate ready and resilient. From the top 9 strategies below, which were developed as part of the stakeholder planning process, please select up to 3 of the top three priority strategies that you would like the Town to move forward with. If you feel as though your highest priority is missing, you may enter in at the end of the survey. Note: Please have read through the draft Summary of Findings report or attended the Select Board's MVP Public Listening Session (Monday, June 7, at 6:30 pm) before filling out this survey in order to better understand the process of developing these strategies.
