The Trust for Public Land is assisting the City of Chattahoochee Hills in planning improvements to Campbellton Park (near the boat ramp) and the New RiverLands Park site on Campbellton-Redwine Road (SR 70). These will be waysides on the proposed Chattahoochee Camp and Paddle Trail, where recreational camping is proposed for kayakers, canoers and other boaters traveling the Chattahoochee. Information on the camp and paddle trail can be found here:
https://www.chattahoocheeriverlands.com/stories/coming-soon/camp-paddle-trail-launch/ and the overall RiverLands Plan here:
https://www.chattahoocheeriverlands.com/In addition, the city is preparing a Master Plan for the 240-acre City owned tract across Highway 70 from the New RiverLands site. Much of this site is the floodplain of White Oak Creek and contains natural regrowth of hardwoods on what was once clearcut land in the early 2000’s.
The city is seeking input and feedback on these three projects and is requesting you and other Chattahoochee Hills citizens respond to the survey and provide your suggestions on what you envision for these sites. Before August 1, please complete this survey and let us know your thoughts.
