Lobby For Climate
#ChangeTheChamber
It’s time for companies to stop the US Chamber of Commerce from blocking science-based climate legislation and lobbying against environmental policies. As consumers, current employees and future employees, we care about climate change and are calling on member companies to use their influence to #ChangetheChamber. Companies should:
  • End the Chamber’s obstruction of science-based climate legislation and regulations.
  • Stop the Chamber from funding politicians who oppose climate action.
  • Actively lobby for pro-climate governmental policies.

As the United States' largest trade association, the Chamber wields enormous political influence and has spent $1.6 billion in lobbying over the last 21 years. It consistently use its power to advocate for the interests of the fossil-fuel industry including:
  • Contributing to political campaigns for climate-denying and climate-obstructing politicians;
  • Filing a lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to block the implementation of the Clean Power Plan; and
  • Opposing and working to repeal regulations of greenhouse gas emissions.
Pew Research finds these actions are out of step with the views of most Americans and people around the world who are increasingly concerned about the threat of climate change. Companies can and should advocate for positive climate legislation that ensures a just transition to a zero-carbon future.

In this time of upheaval in our country and around the world, our future cannot be built on the backward policies of the past. We are raising our voices to hold the Chamber, and its member companies, accountable because the time to act is now.
