Expressions of interest are invited for the post of:
Chair, Research Committee (Jan 2027- Dec 2030)
This position is appointed by Council for a Term of Office of 4 years. The Chair is an Ex-Officio Member of Council and is expected to report to all Council meetings and to attend Council meetings at least twice a year.
The Chair should be a full member of BSSH and will have served on a BSSH committee. Interviews will be held if there is more than one candidate.

Purpose of the Committee
a. To advance and facilitate high quality Research involving the membership of the BSSH
b. To involve the broad BSSH membership in Research
c. To fulfill the Research aims of the Society
d. Help deliver scientific programme of BSSH meeting
e. To oversee and award BSSH research grants
f. To develop guidelines for common hand conditions.

Meetings
The Committee formally meets 2 times a year. Other ad-hoc meetings may be organized by the Chair and committee membership.
The Chair also attends (and organizes) interviews for short-listed candidates for research grants when necessary.
