The Cernan Earth and Space Center on the campus of Triton College in River Grove offers educational, engaging, inspiring, and entertaining planetarium programs for the public, schools, birthday parties, and all kinds of private events. Under the planetarium’s dome screen, audiences of all ages explore the wonders of the Universe, near and far. Topics range from the night sky to neurology, planets to paleontology, Earth science to Egyptian pharaohs, and black holes to biodiversity.

There are also laser light shows, purely entertainment programs, that feature great music from many different styles and genres accompanied by brilliant laser imagery, thousands of stars, planets, and giant digital effects.

Outside of the planetarium, we also host free telescope observing, camps, and other activities in addition to a small exhibit hall and the Star Store gift shop.

And since 2015, more than $500,000 in upgrades have been made to the Cernan Center: including dozens of new planetarium shows running on a new digital projector, a booming 5.1 sound system, an interactive table in the exhibit hall, and more.
