Introduction
Caterham Valley for You (also known as the BID or Business Improvement District) has been championing the town centre since 2017, representing nearly 200 local businesses.
As a business-led partnership, Caterham Valley for You exists to drive footfall, boost economic performance, support the business community and enhance the overall appeal of Caterham.
Established through a democratic ballot, it gives businesses a powerful platform to invest collectively in projects and services that go beyond what the local authority can deliver.
Run by a not-for-profit company and guided by a voluntary Board of local business leaders, the BID is firmly driven by the private sector to create a stronger, more influential voice for the future of the town. Each year, over £100,000 is invested back into Caterham through the BID.
Looking ahead, your support matters. BIDs must be renewed every five years. Without a successful YES vote, Caterham Valley for You (the BID) will come to an end and all current projects and services will cease operations on 31st March 2027.
To secure a new term, a renewal ballot will take place in October 2026, supported by a new five-year Business Plan. Your feedback is essential and this survey will directly shape the priorities and projects delivered over the next five years.
By uniting retailers, hospitality, service providers and other stakeholders, Caterham Valley for You creates a single, powerful voice for the business community. It plays a vital role in ensuring Caterham remains a vibrant, competitive and welcoming place to live, work, and visit.
