City of Carpinteria Cannabis Survey

The City of Carpinteria is preparing for changes in California State Law that go into effect in 2018.
The Carpinteria City Council will hold hearings beginning January 22, 2018 and wants to hear from you!

In fall 2016, California voters passed Proposition 64 legalizing recreational marijuana and allowing recreational cannabis businesses to obtain state licenses beginning in 2018. Before that, in 2015, the state passed three bills that mandated comprehensive regulations for medical marijuana, also effective in 2018.

Cities have some leeway in implementing these laws. We'd like to hear from you as we begin deliberation on this important issue.

This survey will take about 5-15 minutes. It has 15 questions divided into four subjects: cultivation, sales, manufacturing/processing, and local impacts.

All answers are confidential.

You do not need to be a Carpinteria resident to take the survey. We’d like to hear from people who live, work, attend school, and visit.

How else can I participate? This survey is just one step. The City Council will hold a hearing January 22, 2018 to give staff direction. There will be many more hearings before final decisions. Please go to the city's website for more information:
