The City of Lafayette's Environmental Task Force is considering recommending policies to require newly constructed buildings to be built all-electric and to encourage existing building owners to convert their fossil fuel appliances to electric as well. Read more at www.lovelafayette.org/ebuildings.

Switching from polluting natural gas to clean electricity in our homes and offices makes our community safer, healthier and more resilient while reducing our carbon footprint and lowering energy costs.

The City of Lafayette’s  Environmental Task Force is currently drafting policies to require newly constructed buildings to be built all-electric and to encourage existing building owners to convert their fossil fuel appliances to electric as well. (To date, 54 California jurisdictions have passed similar all-electric legislation.)

Originally scheduled to close May 15, 2022, the survey has been reopened with no deadline to collect more responses.
