Instructions: Submit this form if your child is a rising 5th - 9th grade student who is interested in participating in the Junior Scientist Academy (JSA) program.
The JSA is a FREE program open to students with high aptitude and interest in science and STEM. Students must meet at least 2 of these standards to qualify and be accepted into the program:
- Level 4 or 5 science and/or math EOG score
- A or B grade average in science and/or math
- Math or science teacher recommendation letter (from a teacher that taught them)
- Career assessment results indicating a STEM field
- Demonstrated interest/excellence in STEM (awards, certificates, projects, etc.)
The JSA program will provide exceptional STEM opportunities for students accepted into the program. STEM sessions will be held during the summer and 2026-2027 school year (see dates below). There will also be a FREE field trip and student stipend provided during the Spring of 2027. Attendance requirements must be met by JSA participants in order to attend the field trip and in order to receive the student stipend.
Summer Camp Dates
Week 1: Monday, July 13 - Thursday, July 16 (9 am - 2 pm daily)
Week 2: Monday, July 20 - Thursday, July 23 (9 am - 2 pm daily)
Week 3: Monday, July 27 - Thursday, July 30 (9 am - 2 pm daily)
Saturday sessions are scheduled for October 17, November 14, January 9, February 6, March 13, April 3, & May 8
