We would be especially honored if you would consider accepting our invitation to participate online in this conference that will take place in Bucharest on July 26, 2023, in Romanian, with simultaneous translation into English and Ukrainian, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. (EEST – Bucharest time).

Representatives of public institutions, the academic environment and non-governmental organizations from Romania, Moldova and Ukraine bring to attention the challenges of national policies for the protection of children remaining at home because of labor migration. Future actions to improve the national legislative framework will be discussed and positive experiences in the field of protection of children remaining at home will be presented. The event continues the trilateral discussions that took place in Chisinau on June 8, 2023, in which the legislative framework regarding children remaining at home from the three countries was presented.

The event takes place within the CASTLE project - Children Left Behind by Labour Migration: Supporting Moldovan and Ukrainian Transnational Families in the EU - ICMPD/2021/MPF-357-004. The project is implemented by the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj, in partnership with the Terre des hommes Romania Foundation, Terre des hommes Moldova, Terre des hommes Ukraine, the Ukrainian Institute for Social Research after Oleksandr Yaremenko and the Academy of Economic Studies from Moldova.
The main objective of this project is to support the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine in improving their child protection frameworks and migration and mobility policies, with a focus on the social and legal impact of labor migration on transnational families. More details can be found at: https://fb.watch/juqjjGns1T/.

The project is co-financed by the European Union, contracted by ICMPD (International Center for Migration Policy Development) within the Partnership Fund for Mobility III and runs from June 15, 2021, to December 15, 2023.

We think you might be interested in our project, and we hope to meet you virtually on July 26, 2023. Your experience is relevant, so you are invited to give your input by sharing good practices, making recommendations, and interacting with professionals attending the conference.

The event is organized in a hybrid format by the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj, in partnership with the Terre des hommes Romania Foundation and will be held in Romanian, with simultaneous translation into English and Ukrainian.
