HCAOA Member Survey: COVID Vaccine & Staffing

We know you are invited to participate in a lot of surveys, but this one is different! There is a lot of data out in the media about vaccination rates in health care settings, but the home care industry is unique. HCAOA is conducting this survey of home care agencies to learn about the specific challenges our members are experiencing related to the COVID vaccine and staffing at this critical moment in time. Your responses will help guide our advocacy efforts on your behalf. Thanks in advance for your time!

DEADLINE: OCTOBER 15, 2021
In what state does your agency operate?
What percentage of your frontline workers have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine?
For those workers who have not received at least one dose of the vaccine, what reason(s) are they giving for not getting the vaccine. Select all you have heard from workers.
Has your agency mandated COVID vaccines for your workers?
How many caregiver positions (FTEs) do you have open right now, meaning if there were caregivers available, you would hire them today?
On average, how many clients/cases per month have you had to turn away because you do not have staff to cover?
What is your current starting wage?
Do you offer sign-on bonuses?
Have you increased your starting wages in the past year to help with caregiver recruitment?
If yes, by how much?
It is well-documented that there is a caregiver shortage in the home care industry today. Why do you believe home care agencies are having a hard time recruiting caregivers? Select all that apply?
Please share any other thoughts you have as a home care agency owner/director about other challenges you face.
