The Parents Association is looking to fill several Board positions for the 2019-2020 school year. Being on the Parents Association Board is a great way to meet other parents and help build the PRS Community.

You will see each available position and a brief description of the responsibilities as you go through the survey.

Assistant Executive Director
The Assistant Executive Director is a Parents Association Board of Directors voting position that is responsible for all communications about the Parents Association activities through PA email lists, the weekly school newsletter and community-wide emails, and assists other committees with communications through platforms like SignUp Genius and Evite. This position works closely with the PRS Communications & Marketing Department in addition to assisting the PA Executive Director throughout the year. Writing ability, attention to detail and organizational skills are helpful. Attendance at monthly board meetings is required.

Financial Secretary
The Financial Secretary is a Parents Association Board of Directors voting position that is responsible for the receipt and accounting of all incoming monies collected by the PA. This position ensures timely and accurate deposits with the School’s Business Office. This position is also responsible for maintaining and monitoring the PA Apple Square credit card functionality. The Financial Secretary coordinates with the Treasurer on monthly financial reports and budgeting. Basic knowledge of Excel worksheets, attention to detail and organizational skills are helpful. Attendance at monthly board meetings is required.

Director of Program Support
The Director of Program Support is a Parents Association Board of Directors voting position that plans and executes activities to promote school spirit. This position works closely with the Athletic Department, the Flock, school clubs/service learning groups and Facilities to create opportunities for the PRS community to gather with a focus on school spirit. This includes the planning and execution of tailgate events, recycling events and the sale of parent merchandise. Previous activities have also included a community-wide service event. Attendance at monthly board meetings is required.

Assistant Director of Program Support
The Assistant Director of Program Support provides support in the planning and execution of activities that promote school spirit in preparation to be Director of Program Support the following year. School spirit programs include tailgate events, community-service/recycling events and the sale of parent merchandise. Attendance at monthly board meetings is encouraged.

Co-Director of Parent Enrichment
The Co-Director of Parent Enrichment is a Parents Association Board of Directors voting position that coordinates committees for activities such as Book Club, Supper Club, Walking Club, and plans the annual grade-level parent parties and parent social meet-ups. This Director ensures that activities are organized with parent volunteer leads, grade-level parent parties are executed within the school guidelines and announcements/invitations to all gatherings are effectively communicated. This position shares a board vote with the other Co-Director of Parent Enrichment who is responsible for the PA Parent Speaker Series and Used Uniform sales.

Assistant Director of Parent Enrichment
The Assistant Director of Parent Enrichment provides support to the Parent Enrichment Directors in preparation to be Director of Parent Enrichment the following year. This position provides assistance with execution of grade level parent parties, Supper Club, used uniform sales, and the PA Parent Speaker Series. Attendance at monthly board meetings is encouraged.

Co-Director of Events
The Co-Director of Events is a Parents Association Board of Directors voting position that plans and executes events that promote community throughout the year. This is a one-year position for 2019-2020, working with the existing Co-Director, Andrea Gashler. The Co-Directors of Events lead committees for the First Day of School Coffee, Fall Fest, Gingerbread Breakfast, Staff Appreciation Lunch and hospitality support for PA meetings. Two Assistant Directors provide event support in preparation to be Directors the following year.

Used Uniform Sales
This position is a Parent Enrichment Committee position and is responsible for numerous sales of donated used uniforms the Parent Association holds throughout the year. Sales of used uniforms are usually held four times per school year --usually in August, January and April as well as during Fall Fest. Responsibilities include the planning and executing of the sale events, soliciting volunteers to assist customers, accumulation and organization of donated used uniforms by gender/size and the maintenance of used uniform inventory. This position is overseen by the Co-Director of Parent Enrichment and attendance at board meetings is not expected. Responsibilities related to used uniform sales could also be performed by a two-person team.
