FECU 2023 Scholarship Application

Thank you for your interest in the Federated Employees Credit Union (FECU) Scholarship Program. This year FECU is offering two $500 scholarships to Federated Employees Credit Union members. Please read the following guidelines carefully before starting the application and essay. Applications not following the guidelines will not be considered. 
 
Applications must be completed and submitted by 11:59 PM Friday, February 28, 2023. Applications submitted after this time will not be considered. Fill out all portions of the application and complete a brief essay.
 
"How have rising costs impacted your financial goals and how can your credit union help you achieve them?" 
For judging purposes, essay content that includes your name will be disqualified.
 
 
Essay: Submitted essay can be up to 100 words. Interviewing staff members and volunteers at your credit union, research materials, or including personal experience in your essay is encouraged but it is not required. Spelling and grammar will be considered. Essays will count for 75 percent of the evaluation. Do not include your name within your essay portion.  
 
Eligibility: Scholarship applicants must be members of Federated Employees Credit Union in good standing as determined by FECU. Immediate family and household members of the Board and Staff of FECU are not eligible to enter. Applicant must be a student pursuing post-high school education in the 2023-2024 school year (fall and spring semesters). The school can be a public or private university, college, graduate, or law school, or a 2-year or 4-year community or technical college. All schools must be accredited by the U.S. Department of Education. 

Deadline: Applications must be completed and submitted by 11:59 PM Friday, February 28, 2023.
 
Selection: Financial need is not considered in the selection of scholarship recipients. A committee made up of the FECU board members and management will select the scholarship recipients. The decision of the selection committee is final and not subject to review.
 
Winners: The scholarship recipients will be announced in April of 2023 and award winners will receive their scholarship money after completing the first semester of the 2023-2024 school year. Recipients must provide FECU a transcript from the fall semester and proof of registration for the spring semester. Upon receiving this information, scholarship money will then be provided directly to the recipient in the form of a check payable to both the student and the school. Scholarship recipients who attend school for ONLY the fall semester will not receive the scholarship money.
