July 2021

Every ASU member is unique, and every workplace is different, but we stand together across water industry to achieve better workplaces. We want you to have a real say on your next enterprise agreement.

Your current agreement does not expire until July 2022. GWM Water has proposed a 12-month rollover.

The Victorian Government Public Sector Wages Policy 2022 states that wage increases are to be capped at 1.5% for the next 4 years unless a 12-month rollover is agreed to, this will then provide for a 2% wage increase, only in 2022.

Should members choose the option of a 12-month rollover, hence locking in a 2% wage increase, it is important to understand that a rollover does not allow bargaining for other claims. The only changes allowable under the wages policy is compliance changes. Your agreement term would then expire July 2023.

If members decide to reject the 12-month rollover and commence “normal” bargaining in 2022 it is important to understand that whilst you can then make claims for improvements to conditions and entitlements (subject to the wages policy framework) your wage increases would be capped at a maximum of 1.5% each year for 4 years.
