Before you complete the survey

About London Colney London Colney is one of the largest villages in Britain, with a population of nearly 10,000. It has a lively and diverse community supported by local organisations, volunteers, activities and facilities. The village also has a rich history, from its former coaching route and numerous inns to its association with the story of Saint Alban.

Purpose of the survey

The Parish Council is carrying out this survey to understand residents’ experiences, priorities and ideas. The results will help identify areas for improvement, shape future projects and services, and inform decisions about how Council resources should be used. Questions cover community safety, parks and open spaces, facilities, events, communication and spending priorities. Optional anonymous background questions will help us assess whether responses represent different parts of the community.
Who is responsible for local services?

You may comment on any local issue. Where the Parish Council is not responsible, it may pass concerns to the appropriate authority, but it cannot guarantee changes to services outside its control.

Changes to London Colney Parish Council

From May 2027, the number of parish councillors will increase from nine to fifteen, and new parish ward boundaries will be introduced. The outer parish boundary will remain unchanged.
Wider changes across Hertfordshire

Subject to parliamentary approval, four new unitary councils will replace Hertfordshire’s existing county, district and borough councils in April 2028. St Albans and Dacorum will form the new Northwest Hertfordshire authority. London Colney Parish Council will remain in place.
