Dear NPs:
You are invited to participate in a research study titled “Relationship between Nurse Practitioner’s Perceptions of Crisis Leadership and their Readiness for Public Health Emergencies”. This study is being conducted by Dana Reed, ACNP from the Department of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU).
Prior to the spring of 2020, several reports were found in the literature about healthcare workers not being prepared for a disaster of pandemic proportions. Now, in 2022, the world is mostly past the grueling surge capacity of COVID-19. Despite global unpreparedness, there were nurse practitioners that lead successfully.  The nurse practitioners who were decisive, cool-headed, strong communicators and good listeners may have been more comfortable leading in the pandemic. Moving forward, are these NPs better prepared to respond to another public health emergency in the community. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between NPs perceptions of their crisis leadership and their readiness for a public health emergency (PHE). The data will be collected using the Crisis Lead assessment and Decision (C-LEAD) instrument and the Emergency Preparedness Information Questionnaire (EPIQ).
In this study, you will be asked to complete an electronic survey. Your participation in this study is voluntary and you are free to withdraw your participation from this study at any time. The survey should take only 15 minutes to complete. As an incentive for completing the survey, you may opt in to have your name entered in a drawing to win 1 of 4 $50.00 Amazon gift cards.

Sincerely,
Dana Reed MSN ACNP
Co-Investigator.
