Wildlife Harvesting Rights Survey

Wildlife Advisory Team Wildlife Harvesting Rights Survey

Spring 2021

Introduction

Under Wildlife Milestone 4 of the Foundation Agreement (Appendix 1), Lake Babine Nation will express its understanding of the scope and content of LBN’s inherent, Aboriginal, Wildlife Harvesting Rights. The Wildlife Advisory Team will lead this work, in consultation with LBN people.

This survey is just meant to start the conversation on this topic. We would appreciate all LBN peoples’ input on these questions – your voice matters to us.  Please answer as many as you feel comfortable answering.

Lake Babine must draw on its traditional laws, customs and teachings to explain its inherent harvesting rights. So, if you remember which elders taught you what you know about your rights, please share that as part of your answers.

Your name and survey answers are completely confidential, and all answered surveys will be combined so that nobody can be identified from their answers.
