ONA/MCHD September Action Survey Question Title After 4 months of negotiations with Multnomah County, our bargaining team needs all of us to weigh in and take action to win a great contract. As of now, what is your top priority? It's understood that many of these things are important to you, but what is your #1? Manageable workloads Higher Corrections premium Ability to consistently take breaks and lunches Across the board wage increases Higher premium for On-Call nurses Increased vacation accrual Increased sick leave accrual Retention bonuses for all departments Double-time for Essential Employees working in inclement weather Ability to practice at full scope of license Maintaining benefits Other (please specify) OK Question Title The theme of our campaign is recruitment and retention. We know that quality staff means quality care, and we proposed real solutions to stop the revolving door of great nurses. Multnomah County shouldn't be just a taxpayer subsidized training ground for healthcare workers. But Multnomah County made it clear that they wish to maintain the status quo--with a few tweaks. As with all employers, they will hold their line as long as it’s comfortable for them. The experience of unions everywhere--throughout history--is that wins and losses don't depend on good arguments and data, but the willingness of the people to stand united and take action. That is why it is time for us to physically come together, discuss our top priorities, and make a plan of action!Membership MeetingThursday, September 20th6pm-8pm10301 NE Glisan St. Portland 97220—The community center at The Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO)There will be food. Can your co-workers count on you to be there?
