The Career and Technical Education Partnership (CTEP) Grant:
Enhancing Teaching & Student Leadership in the Career Clusters of: Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM).

Funded by: The New Jersey Department of Education

Project: This four-year Career and Technical Education Partnership project implements a collaborative network of experienced and knowledgeable representatives from public education, business, industry, labor and workforce development, and institutions of higher education to improve and refine teaching and learning in secondary and postsecondary career and technical education (CTE) programs in New Jersey.

Additionally, this professional network “partners” with the New Jersey Technology Student Association (NJTSA), one of seven Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) in NJ, to promote, develop and enhance student leadership in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The project focuses on four program goals:

1. Establish a STEM Advisory Committee to develop a vision of statewide, standards-based, quality, secondary and postsecondary STEM education and create an online STEM toolkit for teachers, administrators and college faculty.
2. Develop model programs of study in STEM pathways.
3. Plan and deliver statewide professional development.
4. Enhance student leadership development through effective and efficient administration of NJ-TSA.
