BECOME A FOOD TRUCK VENDOR AT CHALK THE BLOCK
Food truck vendors are invited to apply for the 19th annual Chalk the Block Public Arts Festival, one of the City of El Paso’s festivals happening in fall 2026!

ABOUT CHALK THE BLOCK
Chalk the Block (CTB) is a signature El Paso event that transforms downtown into a vibrant cultural hub. Experience sidewalk chalk art competitions, live music, and enjoy the unique homemade product made by local food trucks. The event also features large-scale temporary public art installations, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for attendees.

**EVENT DETAILS**
- Dates: October 3rd, and 4th, 2026
- Location: Downtown El Paso
- Hours of Operation:
- Saturday, October 3rd: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
- Sunday, October 4th: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

**Vendor Set-Up:** Arrival time provided at orientation.

**Overnight Stay**
You must leave your food truck overnight; security will be provided.

**APPLICATION INFORMATION**
-To apply as a food truck vendor at Chalk the Block, please submit your application by July 31st.
-We are seeking vendors who offer original food products that reflect our artistic and diverse sprit for Chalk the Block

*FEES and PERMIT NOTICE*
General City of El Paso Vendor Permits are not necessary for this event, as Chalk the Block includes permitting.
Food Trucks : $600
The Market Food Trucks: $400 (You must be in good standing with The Market, and have attended at least 2 times, to participate and receive discount)
APPLICATION DEADLINE:

Applications must be received by no later than 11:59 pm MST on July 31st . Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Submission of application does not guarantee acceptance.

*Selected food trucks will be notified by September 9th and be notified of payment deadline for their space. A SECURE PAYMENT LINK FROM A MUNICIPAL EMAIL WILL BE SENT. (We do NOT take CashApp or any other form of financial service app for payment.) Any non-paid fees will equate to forfeiture of participation.
*Vendors are responsible for all operation equipment and supplies. NO EXTRA TENTS OR SEATING ARE ALLOWED.
*As spaces are limited, the food vendors will be selected through a Chalk the Block Panel Review.
*PARTICIPATION IN 2025 OR ANY PREVIOUS PARTICIPATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE SELECTION FOR CTB '26.
*NO OIL DUMPING OR FOOD SPILL OF ANY KIND IS ALLOWED, IF THIS OCCURS, FOOD TURCK WILL BE REMOVED FROM ELIGIBLE LIST OF VENDORS. TRASH AND REFUSE, AS WELL AS ALL HAZARDOUS MATERIAL MUST BE TAKEN AND DISPOSED OF PROPERLY.

*HEALTH DEPARTMENT WILL CONDUCT INSPECTIONS BEFORE THE EVENT, AND THEY WILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE ANY VENDOR WHO IS NOT FOLLOWING PROTOCOL OR PROCEDURE*

VENDING GUIDELINES

-Participating Food Truck Vendors must plan for their truck to remain on the event footprint Saturday and Sunday. Food Trucks will not be permitted to exit or re-enter the footprint due to the event layout, road closure, and limited entrance/exit spaces.
-Vendors must bring all of their own supplies and equipment (food, vehicles, food supplies, stoves, grills, electricity, water, ice, as appropriate). Access to electricity is NOT included.
-CTB will only accept food trucks with quiet generators (maximum of 64 dB pre generator).
-All participants are responsible for their space's own cleanup.
-All trucks and trailers are required to unhitch so as to ensure maximum capacity of the Food Court space. On-site parking is prohibited.
-Although event security will be on-site during the event, vendors are responsible for assigning an individual to remain within the truck during operational hours.
-Patio furniture is NOT allowed. Designated sitting areas will be provided by the event organizers.
-Spaces will be assigned by the Vendor Coordinator. Assignments are final; vendors may NOT reassign themselves. -----Food Trucks may trade spaces with a neighbor, only if both parties and the coordinator are in agrement.
-CTB 2026 vendor permits must be displayed at all times. Vendors without permits will be asked to leave immediately.
-Failure to be ready for business on time and maintain full operations throughout the event may result in future ineligibility to participate.
-All Food Truck Vendors must be fully staffed and be prepared to provide service in a timely manner. Excessive delays or long lines may also affect future participation eligibility.
-Please be advised that in a typical year, CTB attracts over 45,000 people. It is imperative that all selected food truck vendors be prepared to provide full menu operations throughout the entire event.

Event logistics will be discussed at the orientation after acceptance confirmation is sent and payment received.
