Conversion Optimization Specialist

Marijuana Business Daily (MJBizDaily), the largest and most trusted producer of B2B news and trade shows serving executives and major investors in America's $6 billion cannabis industry, is seeking a Conversion Optimization Specialist to optimize our site and other channels so our qualified inbound traffic - and social media followers - are transformed into as many opt-ins, sales leads, magazine subscribers and/or paid event registrants as possible.

The Conversion Optimization Specialist reports directly to the Senior Marketing Director. You will work on ways to optimize our sites, landing pages, lead generation forms and event registration carts for better response rates and sales conversions. You will convert prospects all the way through the funnel -- which includes online and offline components ranging from email newsletters and autoresponders to social media to print magazines, real-world events. You'll be responsible for:

  • Optimizing site and landing page design and copy to improve conversions
  • Conversion optimizing  forms and carts
  • A/B testing pages and email campaigns
  • Creating/improving automated emails (autoresponders, segmented drip campaigns, etc.) to convert opt-ins into paying customers
  • Reviewing data to determine where improvements can be made

You will work closely with the marketing creative and IT teams to analyze customer data, and determine actionable tactics to help deepen customer relationships and sales.  The successful candidate will have experience in: 
  • Ecommerce optimization
  • UI or U/I (user interface)
  • Design & usability
  • Web optimization
  • Online data analytics & data driven decision making
  • Marketing funnel analysis & optimization
  • A/B testing
  • Best practices in form and cart front-facing design as well as usability
  • Email drip campaigns, autoresponders and segmentation tactics and have a firm grasp of web & ecommerce optimization
Candidates should work well in a fast paced and creative environment, using both on and offline marketing techniques.  You must also have a willingness to learn quickly about the legal cannabis B2B markets.   Experience with event marketing or generating qualified email opt-ins is a bonus.   

This position requires a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in data driven marketing and funnel management as well as project management experience.  Candidates with experience working in or providing content for high growth digitally based news organizations will receive extra consideration.  Experience with Eloqua and Salesforce also very beneficial.

Primary Duties
  • Optimize our websites to gain qualified opt-ins/leads and convert paying customers
  • Analyze existing marketing touch-points to recommend test options
  • Identify, develop, and optimize marketing funnels as they relate to the conversion of prospects into customers via the various marketing and product channels available
  • Look at how we are communicating with customers and figure out how to sell them more and deepen the relationship
No relocation assistance will be provided for this role.
