Bloomington Living Hope currently has seven worship services across two locations every weekend. Especially at BLC, members are being dispersed across multiple services and are lacking the close fellowship we desire.
At times, this is logistically challenging for the pastoral staff, and more importantly, demanding on musicians-most of which are volunteers.
~ We desire to create a greater sense of community.
~ We desire to create more energy in worship, which will provide a positive and inviting environment for visitors and potential members.
~ We desire to rally our members to grow our BLC ministry.
~ We desire to make better use of our musicians to enhance the worship experience.
We believe those who worship on Monday at BLC would continue to worship at another service time we offer.
We therefore propose,
~ To survey our membership concerning suggested time changes for worship.
~ To encourage our members to set aside personal preferences for the good of our ministry.
~ To offer the following service times at BLC:
Saturday 6:00 p.m.
Sunday 8:30 a.m. Education Hour with 9:30 a.m. worship
Sunday 9:00 a.m. Education Hour with 10:00 a.m. worship
Monday 7:00 p.m.-offered only during the summer months
To also continue to monitor our service times at LH.
~ Consensus that the 9:00 a.m. Education Hour with 10:00 a.m. worship would work the best.
~ Our fear is that an 8:30 a.m. Education Hour start time could deter attendance and recruitment of teachers.
~ The 10:00 a.m. service time would also bring consistency between the two worship locations.
~ Research also shows that 10:00 a.m. is the most popular time for members and visitors in the American culture.
