CST Staff Policy & Code of Conduct Acknowledgement

Chesterbrook Swim and Tennis Club is one of the premier aquatic, and tennis institutions in the northern Virginia area. We pride ourselves in hiring the most qualified and efficient staff for lifeguarding, front desk, snack bar, and pool management.

Our goal is to have a friendly and hardworking staff that puts safety above all other duties. Not only do we expect our employees to be the most qualified in the area, but we also expect them to possess excellent leadership, organizational, and public relations skills.

I acknowledge that I have received a copy of the Chesterbrook Swim and Tennis Club (CST) Employee Handbook. I understand that this handbook replaces any and all prior verbal and written communications regarding CST working conditions, policies, procedures, appeal processes, and benefits. I have read and understand the contents of this handbook and will act in accord with these policies and procedures as a condition of my employment with CST.

Any written or oral statement by a supervisor or other person contrary to the CST Employee Handbook is invalid and should not be relied upon by any employee.

I understand that if I have questions or concerns at any time about the handbook or any other conditions of employment at CST, I will consult my immediate supervisor, my supervisor's manager, or the Vice President of Personnel for clarification.

I acknowledge that revisions to the Handbook may occur. I understand that CST may change, modify, suspend, interpret or cancel, in whole or part, any of the published or unpublished personnel policies or practices, with or without notice, at its sole discretion, without giving cause or justification to any employee. Such revised information may supersede, modify or eliminate existing policies.

I understand and agree that I will read and comply with the policies contained in this Handbook and any revisions, am bound by the provisions contained therein, and that my continued employment is contingent on following those policies.

I understand that the use of illegal drugs and participation in underage drinking will not be tolerated and will result in instant termination.

I have entered into employment with CST voluntarily and acknowledge that it is for no specified length of time. Accordingly, either I or CST may terminate the relationship at will, with or without cause, at any time, for any reason or no reason.

* 2. CST is a community-based organization dedicated to providing recreational activities for its members. Club staff are subject to the observance of the organization's rules and procedures. Any staff member who violates this Code is subject to discipline, up to and including termination of employment.
The activities outlined below are strictly prohibited. Please acknowledge that you have read each item by checking each box and entering your name in the space provided.

Abusive language towards a club member, guest or another member of club staff.

Bringing onto CST's property dangerous or unauthorized materials such as explosives, firearms, weapons or other similar items.

Discourtesy or rudeness to a fellow employee, club member or guest.

Verbal, physical or visual harassment of another employee, club member or guest.

Actual or threatened violence toward any individual or group.

Conduct endangering the life, safety, health or well-being of others.

Bullying or taking unfair advantage of any fellow employee, member, or guest.

Failing to cooperate with a manager or member of the Board.
