Currently the 2022 City Spotlights Leadership Program will be fully in person. This is depending on CDC guidelines and Boch Center COVID-19 policies, as the safety and health of our participants and staff is our outmost priority.
The City Spotlights Leadership Program is a summer youth employment program that will hire up to 30 Teen Leaders, ages 15-18, specializing in an area of the performing arts (dance, music, or acting) to use the arts for social change in their communities. Teen Leaders work collaboratively to create an original performance and arts-based community engagement opportunities connected to social change. Teen Leaders deepen their facilitation and job readiness skills; engage Boston residents in meaningful dialogue about a social change, and operate as agents of change in their communities.
Teen Leaders will be paid minimum wage ($14.25) for up to 25 hours per week. Teen Leaders will meet on Mondays-Friday from 9:30am-4:30pm (schedule is subject to change) for up to 25hrs. per week. They will receive arts and leadership training in preparation for a Final Showcase performance and community engagement efforts. We anticipate rehearsals will start on July 6, 2022 through August 12, 2022.

Previous performing arts experience is NOT necessary! Prior preparation is NOT required for auditions.
- You must be 15 on or before September 1, 2022, cannot turn 19 on or before September 1, 2022.
- Live in the city of Boston.
- Due to COVID precautions and as a Boch Center employee policy, all participants must be vaccinated by the first day of the program.
