IV)  Critical Care Update
Update on Sepsis
Objectives:
·     Develop a diagnostic approach to sepsis and understand the role of various scoring systems
·     Apply evidence-based management strategies for sepsis including vasopressors and goal-directed therapy
·     Discuss the risk factors and implications of hospital-acquired infections

Update on Respiratory Failure
Objectives: 
·     Differentiate between the different types of respiratory failure
·     Explain the roles and rationale for different non-invasive ventilator strategies for patients with respiratory failure
·     Discuss the impact an ICU stay has on the quality of life of patients once they are transferred to the ward and beyond

Update on Cardiac Arrest Management
Objectives:
·     Review the rationale for the most recent cardiac arrest guidelines
·     Apply these guidelines to cardiac arrest management
·     Devise an approach to prognosticate patients following a cardiac arrest and be able to describe the criteria for brain death
