Dog Control Public Spaces Protection Order Consultation
Folkestone & Hythe District Council

The current 'Dog Control Public Space Protection Order' (PSPO), which covers the whole district, (from East Folkestone to Romney Marsh and encompasses areas such as Elham and Hawkinge), expires at the end of July 2025.

A new draft Dog Control PSPO has been prepared, largely a continuation of the current restrictions, and we would like to hear feedback about the proposals.

Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPO) are designed to deal with a particular nuisance or anti-social behaviour that is detrimental to the local community’s qualify of life and enjoyment of a public space. This is done by imposing conditions on the use of that area which apply to everyone.

This survey is open until 25 June 2025, and at the end of the consultation period, the responses will be reviewed before a final PSPO is presented to Cabinet. This survey should take approximately 2 minutes to complete.

Please note this form should only be used to gather feedback regarding the new Dog Control PSPO.
