1. Awards Overview and Personal Details

Nominations are now open for the Victorian Councillor Service and Mayor Emeritus Awards which will be presented at the Councillor Service Awards Dinner on Thursday, 22 October 2026 at the Pullman on the Park, East Melbourne (tickets available from September).

Important Information:
  • Please check eligibility requirements prior to submitting a nomination available on the MAV website.
  • Please ensure you have all relevant details around years of service and current contact information for the nominee. You should also collect relevant documentation prior to completing a nomination form. You will need:
    • Evidence of support of the nomination and confirmation of service history from the Councillor's current council CEO.
    • Evidence of support of the nomination and confirmation of service history from the CEO of any municipality where the Councillor formerly served.
    • Evidence that the nominee consents to the nomination and use of their name/photograph as part of the awards program.
    • A professional headshot of the nominee (jpeg or png)
  • Nominations must be submitted via this form, not via email. Nominations close 5pm, Friday 31 August 2026. No late nominations will be accepted.
  • Nominations can only be submitted by council officers, i.e. Council Support Officers, Governance Officers, Executive Assistants, CEOs. Nominations cannot be by a Councillor.
  • Nominations must be endorsed by the CEO.
