Artist Emily Peasgood is creating a new artwork for the newly formed Creative Isle Community Rail Partnership, and would like to invite you to contribute sound recordings to feature in it.

About the artwork
Peasgood will create 7 sound-based artworks, one for each of Thanet's train stations: Birchington-on-Sea, Broadstairs, Dumpton Park, Margate, Minster, Ramsgate and Westgate-on-Sea. It aims to celebrate the uniqueness and the diversity of our sonic landscape, or soundscape, in Thanet. The artwork will installed in the train stations during Turner Contemporary's Open exhibition, starting in July 2021 until January 2022. There will be a special area in each where you can stand and listen to each artwork.

About the Creative Isle Community Rail Partnership
Creative Isle Community Partnership is supported by Southeastern and delivered for Thanet's communities by Turner Contemporary and Thanet District Council. Community Rail Partnerships bring local groups together to engage communities and help them get the most out of their railways.

How can I take part?
We are looking for community groups and individuals of all ages to contribute sound recordings of sounds they hear in their local environment that may feature in the work. You do not need any experience of sound recording to take part, and will be provided with instructions and support from Emily. To take part, you will need to complete this Registration and Permission Form. Each person who takes part is required to complete one form. You need to send your sounds to me by Monday 19th '21 April 12 midday.
